Spare The Rod, Spoil The God

All of American society needs a binding code of ethics, but we’d rather our shit flow downhill than fly it toward the stars like simple monkeys can do. Whether it’s entertainment or politics or anything else, if you can’t find a matter appealing to you then supply is not meeting demand, but demanding that all the things be to your interest/benefit/enrichment no matter the particulars is self-serving madness.

Any person, place or thing that can do no wrong is full of it. Each and every last one of us needs to eyeball themselves as probably not special and rarely if ever in the right. Or at least entertain the possibility. Nobody’s esteem matters more than anybody’s life, or all of society is a delusion. If you’ve anything better to do than genuflect before the supreme wonder of my favorite person, place or thing you are stupid and evil and you are trying to kill me.

Everybody loathes preachers from outside their choir, but honestly, do we not all function where we are rarely if ever needed or wanted? Is it really somehow different when the sacrifice is not purposed for self-appeasement or self-enrichment? Market analysts would be the worst fucking dungeon masters. The trick to dissuading Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, census-takers, campaign canvassers or neighbors from knocking on your door is to invite them inside and slowly undress. They vanish forever or you have a unique afternoon. What is fox so upset about I would love to be replaced.

For years I’ve been describing the online social media experience rightfully as DIY segregation, it’s been emboldening people to expect the same from their schools and news media, to never be met with anything uncomfortable or unfamiliar. Allowing anti-integration in broad daylight to get rebranded by proper society as comfort levels, serving everyone’s self-interest and scant else. So I’ve always been torn being on these platforms. Can life be anything but blowing or being blown? But what gets me about religious people, is how they can’t or won’t attribute their own supreme idol anymore depth than that. We can be more complicated than that, my cat is more complicated than that, but across my lifetime complications tend to come from a reverse groupthink declaring with no uncertainty what is to be good and what is to be bad. We give likes and dislikes way too much gravitas. Real journalists spend more on bail money than fancy-pants for governmental galas anyway, even if free cookies are a helluva motivator.

Unpopular opinion: If terrorism was ever anything more than a governmental hobby, why has no group considered Mother Of All Bombing a Superbowl, or Academy awards ceremony. The fanaticism of everyday Americans alone would prompt itself to surge suicide figures by the thousands. If twitter had its switch flipped in a heartbeat, people would very seriously flip the fuck out. That is terror. But we are to presume those carrying the label are incapable of any reach not ideal to our Military Industrial Complex. And if this government regardless of administration had ever succeeded in stopping such an attack, we would never have heard the end of it. They milk thin air for nothing already. But it’s all ridiculous when patriotism itself has set for its own standard the willingness to see Americans suffer needlessly. You wanna save lives by pandemic precautions or universal free healthcare, uprooting war machinery or banning guns, you’re considered no real patriot. Uncle Sam becomes the sadist saying I’ll tell you when you’ve had enough.

Most people are pretty crappy about totally disregarding any and all feelings not mirroring their own, and despite a world history of evidence to the contrary most people insist in believing their very own pain is tops. But life is really the thread we all dangle by. It’s kinda the tastes great/less filling argument. Some people are drawn to what’s in front of the camera and some are drawn to what’s behind it, but genre overpowering either side can mean they failed to personalize as much as it could mean they succeeded in narrative.

Woke and anti-woke all want their thoughts and feelings replicated by others suffering their own, but using woke as a derogative is admitting that a thing exists outside your dreams, which is silly to be upset about because the entire universe is outside your head. And now the people for/against largely and erroneously feel that free speech guarantees an audience and acceptance, that personal esteem is the responsibility/priority of others and anything uncomfortable or unfamiliar is just wrong. Words change and evolve. Yea, finding a thing in the world to like is what makes life worthwhile as long as it’s not endangering people, but nobody deserves authority over the non-lethal responses of others to the world around them, because no two lives are the same. The people outraged over anything anywhere existing without their interest don’t seem to have that self-awareness, either because they were told the customer is always right too many times, or their moms said they were special and they took it literally. I think what the sorts of trolls issuing rape/death threats have in common with most every special interest group, is the outrage at others perceived as having more resource and opportunity than themselves, with nobody as upset about others having less.

I’m not bad I’m just drawn that way cries every sigil invested with every hope and every fear.
