Transparency International is a Berlin-based NGO, described by Wikipedia as
“Its nonprofit purpose is to take action to combat global corruption with civil societal anti-corruption measures and to prevent criminal activities arising from corruption. It publishes for example the Global Corruption Barometer and the Corruption Perceptions Index. Transparency International has the legal status of a German registered voluntary association and serves as an umbrella organization. Its members have grown from a few individuals to more than 100 national chapters which engage in fighting corruption in their home countries.”
The popular mythology that humans can obtain wealth or power through good intentions is the crux that enables corruption, perpetuates corruption and shields corruption. One cannot sidestep that without bumping into lucrative arms contracts of persons eager to use and abuse others for personal enrichment by lying, cheating and stealing to claim what does not belong to them. But as I’ve written before, when we allow might to make right, then rapists and murderers are never in the wrong.
Reporting on the org’s corruption perception index for 2018, Zoltan Simon observes that the USA had fallen 6 spots over the course of the first two years of the Trump Presidential administration, to 22nd. The United Nations recognizes 195 countries on Earth, yet Transparency International only looks at 180, implying that there are 158 nation-states which are more corrupt than Uncle Sam. Audiences are seriously expected to believe that 158 of Transparency International’s listed 180 nation-states somehow have the means, the opportunities and the unhinged greed to be more corrupt than the USA.

It is nightmarish and deafening a silence, how unobserved is this one-sided working relationship where not one other nation on Earth may keep a military base of any size within domestic USA borders, yet the USA maintains many bases within most of the otherwise sovereign nations of the Earth. And this did not just happen overnight, or within a single Presidency or even across ten Presidencies. All of the armies and militias of the world could align forces in direct and final opposition against the privatized business interests of the USA and still be wiped out inside of an afternoon. But the sadomasochistic foreplay must never mercifully expire, Uncle Sam fucking with everyone and his best gal Lady Liberty, never to be penetrated.
