archconservatives of paradox

When the USA publicly vetoes Palestine membership to the United Nations, on the grounds that “it should be a result of direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians and not a unilateral move through the UN” it is vetoing self-determination, for allowing any one member final say over circumstances pertaining to the rest runs counter to that which unites the member nation-states of that assembly. It’s also saying it does not want a two-state solution with the parties given equal footing, instead leaving the decision to the same interests controlling who and what may come and go from Palestinian lands, with special preference awarded to Israeli bulldozers arriving without advance notice or after the fact explanations or legal authority to make magical room for expanding Jewish condominiums, no matter the homes or lives lost in the doing. But if the USA would care to assert itself against what the UN holds in common, observing the most fundamental of basic human rights, then the members of the UN are retarded for permitting the USA a continued place at the table.

An emblematic issue to be sure. I’ve before rather keenly acknowledged how Capitalism goes over the hill the moment it stops generating goods and services to meet existing demand, to instead manufacture demand for preordained goods and services, thus limiting options for consumers as well as it limits numbers of profiteers. The biggest example of that right now is Artificial Intelligence, a matter which manifestly nobody anywhere was begging for, certainly not the news reporters or artists already losing work to its development and implementation. Just as the mere esteem of a certain foreign body carries more weight on USA soil than does first amendment rights of USA citizens on USA soil, the most self-serving are applauded and hero-worshiped at expense to everyone else.

The frank reality is that the encroaching civil war will have little to nothing to do with political or religious divides, but rather the populace growing enraged at their consumer culture for not following through on promises of marketing for them personally, with no product truly completing anyone or making them feel better about giving away all their time and space to groups already possessing more, not when the only thing that can complete them or make them feel better about themselves would be to actually become better people, ones not justifying entrapment or extortion or exploitation of whichever others. But they are not upset over half-assed laundry detergents, they are upset that they are not included into the proverbial inner circle, where the crux of consumer culture actually is made for their benefit and theirs alone. In this sense, as I wrote long ago, brand loyalty is entirely interchangeable with religious zealotry or political partisanship, hollow illusions of salvation casting blame for harms wrought by ego everywhere but ego’s downward spiral of a direction. And yet no matter how upset they allow themselves to get, there will be no axis of evil compatriots conspiring for treason or whatever, because betrayal infers they were ever on the same page. Just as no ego can share, or grasp the concept of enough, no political operative or militiaman can go without arguing over who among them has been most helplessly inconvenienced while also unironically being the most special. The right-wingers of DC, keeping in mind that in modern times all politicians of the English-speaking world are competing shades of rightwing whose root function one and all is to cheat no less than the root function of the preacher is to lie and the root function of the executive is to steal, as much energy and resource they waste on arguing over who deserves less than themselves across the country because the self-determination of others somehow undermines one’s own liberty or whatever, each and every one insists on being the most deserving of love.

The only bit that anybody is entitled to, according to the natural world, is shame. But it’s the suppression of shame, projecting causality of shame for all things ungratifying, which propelled the DIY segregation underlying online social media networks and paid news media to present only the familiar and comfortable, down to what strangers might encounter through schools and libraries. No other place holds so many picky eaters, with none able or willing to stomach the shame of their own choices to co-sign for all the wrong people and places and things to claim ultimate say and influence over everyone, everywhere and everything else.
