I just launched this email to the office of spokesperson for the International Criminal Court, as well as to the UN liaison for the ICC.
And after copy/pasting the entirety of that other missive, I closed with this addition:
I implore you, on behalf of all that is legal, ethical and moral, is there anything the ICC or the UN can do, without providing this current administration excuses for continued devastation? I understand the compulsion to let Uncle Sam finally pass away, for all the lying, cheating and stealing have done more harm than good upon the international communities across lifetimes. But there are many innocent people here, and even those who cannot make that claim for themselves deserve another chance, to know remorse and guilt and shame, and to get it right, to be a better person contributing to a better world. I for one do not believe in happy endings, but I also do not believe in allowing a pot to boil over despite every opportunity to prevent the predictable mess.
