The all-encompassing, boundless ignorance of the masses truly is an ongoing affair. Humans are not by default an intelligent species of course, nor are they empathic. The mere existence of other persons is no threat unto itself toward life or livelihoods, only potentially threatening to a dominance by whichever overfed persuasion. A dominion fundamentally dependent on the subjugation of others is not a defensible thing however, because if all men are created equal there must be no acceptable domination. Yet ours is the only democracy on the world stage to have codified slavery in its constitution, a small fact which should render void and null the rest of that archaic document. Any and every argument challenging such a statement not only favors self-destruction, but makes for a fine example of encephalopathy. Civilizations do not collapse from good intentions.
I solemnly and adamantly believe that comfort is the birthplace of all fear. That ambition is the opposite to kindness, with one declaring ownership of time and/or space while the other foregoes self-interest so that the existence of others may know less burdens. What thoroughly encases all of this society between proverbial rocks and hard places is not a complex, complicated thing in the slightest but in fact the most predictable thing in all of time and space, the ego. You agree to live beyond your means, thus willfully if not witlessly limiting and condemning your very own life and livelihood. In a rational society, entertainment is a luxury, yet what we have today is an entire culture which manifestly cannot function without it. People are scared shitless of being left alone to their own designs. So, wanton fantasy because this reality we enable and empower is just oh so frightening for such processed and programmed idiots to cope with. It’s the shock that a preferred marketing could ever possibly lie, when lying is the sole intent of marketing to begin with.
Fighting any understanding of cause and effect, refusing to address the infinite realities of cause and effect, does not and cannot undo cause or effect. Failing to understand the demands of science during a pandemic for example, because such demands are inconvenient or inopportune, is no more a defensible gesture than homicide. Like the older couple from a local Catholic church who come by on the weekends to perform live music for my bedbound mom. They do so entirely to feed their own egos, but if I address that then I become the villain for denying my mom whichever entertainments arising from human contact when in fact I alone am striving to prolong her life. A modern society should quarantine in these times explicitly to save lives, which is an infringement not of any civil or basic human rights as it protects all persons, but rather an impairment solely to the whims and quirks and biases and fetishes of ego, uncomfortable reality be damned. By the rationale of equity a quarantine must only ever be broken not to feed egos, but to save lives, as with protesting a government which has proactively endangered the lives of all its citizenry, and additionally the lives of all men, women and children around the globe by this prolonging of the pandemic, a prolonging for no other cause but ego-appeasement, to maintain a selfish comfort which holds no place in the natural world. If the leaders elected or appointed to render guidelines over these life or death concerns as well fail in grasping cause and effect, it is not a license for their followers to be equally haphazard, but a call for the responsible members of society to compensate all the more for the neglect and fallacies which come exclusively from the self-interest. No matter what your preferred branding of the day might insist to the contrary, absolutely nothing about this or any society is itself a complexity. The complications arise from the abrupt insertions of the whims and quirks and biases and fetishes of ego above and beyond the reality of cause and effect.
Even the popular concept that the source of what actually ails the USA is a 1% comprised entirely with white supremacists is a cop-out, as there appears to be quite a few social issues which racism nor sexism nor any other bandwagon can even begin to explain. The ego of millionaires, billionaires and trillionaires, unarguably the most selfish among us, indulge in too much tax avoidance to declare themselves as nationalists or patriots with a straight face. Neither their loyalties or ambitions have squat to do with a given culture or creed or anything else, only their personalized advancement at expenses both mental and physical to the world which their egos inhibit and co-opt. Subsets among the whole of humanity, whether over dividing lines of race or sex or competing brands or anything else topical, service no other purpose but to keep the whole from seeing itself even through the blackest of mirrors. Programmed to stay busy with re-editing their own endless streams of selfies, millennials particularly don’t understand that at all. Every issue they see as an obstruction to their dreams ultimately boils down to their erroneous adherence to the brochures for whichever personality cult’s tripe taken at face value, the poor bastards left complaining that they did all that they were supposed to. In reality, they are not supposed to do anything, at least not in terms of permitting trends to do their thinking for them. Freedoms of any stripe do not arrive free of responsibilities, and only the most infantile psyches would insist on sex without foreplay or consequences. Giving more time to social networking than to social work, insisting on gratification while returning the flimsiest gratitude they can get away with, if any at all, does not make them victims. No virtue prompts anyone to be the center of attention, regardless of entertainment factors, as good people do not dream of power over the lives of others. I am far from Christian myself, obviously, but there is logic predating their 7 holy virtues and counterpart 7 deadly vices alike, and demandng that others solve your problems for you without returning the favor is as one-sided as the American political spectrum.
Parting with ego is the answer to all problems and social ills which everyone is looking for, and it’s the answer everyone passes over because it leaves no openings for their own whims or quirks or biases or fetishes. As though a problematic matter is somehow less contrived when stemming from the marketing which sold you and yours. Good people are not drawn to positions of authority over others. It runs counter to all of the virtues regardless of the marketing. Nobody requires an office to help others, not when offices of governance or any variety of grouping by default rely completely on earnest individuals to see anything even remotely through. You do not need a badge to help anybody, or a gun, as these are tools specifically implemented for unnatural conquest and domination, empowering those willing to pilfer from anyone not affirming or conforming to the ego desiring service. But this is why guns appeal only to the most self-interested among us, being the most immediate way to not cope with a perceived lack of worship. As with my charge against paid media, possessing means to convey information is hopelessly synonymous for possessing means to manipulate information, yet the most comforted people in this society insist that cities have been burned by persons with nothing left to lose, the public accepting the nonsensical claim from vested interests with literally everything to lose. Not only is it the active acceptance of a fantasy over reality, but one exponentially damaging to reality. No matter the spectacle, members of audiences are deluded assholes.
Stop ingratiating ego, no matter if it belongs to someone you wish to be, to befriend or to fuck and no matter if originating from Church or State or Industry, and the only problems left in your life boil down to your own ego’s undue demands that strangers with their own preoccupations and burdens to carry give emphasis instead to your quirks or whims or biases or fetishes. Which are not actually problems by any offline definition. Failure to be loved is no crime or sin or falsehood. But fail to make money for others and you renege on your civil and basic human rights, and I will have no part in such a construct of shear madness. How many lives exactly has your favorite art saved?
To vote for a political candidacy is nothing but perpetuating the modern mythology that voting carries anymore weight than fantasy football, and that despite this world of evidence you actually have no qualms with a system decimating every life it touches. There is not a single politician in this country past or present who earns respect, because if kindness existed on their agendas they’d have no mind for their ambitions at all. In this oppressive atmosphere where praise is openly afforded only ever to the most egotistic, trusting that someone will make any attempt at resolving the problems of your own life or of the country or the world at large, amounts time and again to considerably nothing but giving in to soothsayers whose systemic machinery of tools could not be more blunt about disregarding what your life or the country or world at large genuinely needs. Unless aligning with the flighty right egos whose quirks and whims, biases and fetishes have no place for you or yours but to serve what they want. The pop-star you like just wants you to buy their shit, it really is that simple, yet there you are going along with it while thinking your tastes are so interesting that extraterrestrials would ever be attracted to you or your future.
I will never rejoin a society that I was never a part of, for my scars speak quite plainly on the distinctness between virtues and vices, assuring me that I simply do not exist to make anyone feel alright about themselves. Nobody does. Appeals for remodels and makeovers and fresh starts is never problem-solving. It’s hiding. Having lived a life wholly free of comfort, I’ve nothing to fear myself, not the billion-plus guns currently in the USA, not the rancor of your social circle and not the enmity of fanboys obsessing over pointless symbolism rather than concerns of life and death. Your escapism has led you directly into the fires, well done you fucking imbeciles. No matter who you are your god is clearly not your friend. Your flag is not what’s feeding you but it grants your favorite label more legal rights and privileges than your family tree will ever know for themselves. The oath-keepers preparing for election violence lack self-awareness to note how they are the ones introducing lethal force, the same way that history’s largest military unironically views all others as competing threats. Because as awesome as your most prized symbology is it’s somehow always the most persecuted and at risk, so requires your supportive subservience all the same, like advertising which fails to follow through compelling you to personally take out its competitors for not making your wishes come true. Evil, defined as such only for being off-brand. No element or morsel to this crazy society makes a lick of sense, because literally everything hinges on ego of some sort or other, while the ego’s claims of being the best are relentlessly in the wrong, prompting leaps of faith over cliffs with nary a virgin waiting in the wings.
If you possess time for assisting those who simply want the boost, rationalizing their vanity and buying their lines and leasing their products and services which keep real problems at arm’s length enough to fester, you’ve time for helping those whose circumstances are honestly rooted in pure desperation, a desperation created famously through luck of the draw by said self-interested parties. It remains the one and only decision Americans can freely make for themselves, yet they just don’t want to and outright refuse to, even as their world burns for it. Good fucking riddance to the trail of bodies they make of themselves one and all, contorting to fit with the imaginary and calling the practice principles and convictions as opposed to the direct lack thereof.
