So adverse to a life free of any form of codependency that we’ve allowed our lexicon to instill “self-own” with negative connotation. We should own ourselves to the fullest extent in all contexts and in all capacities for good or bad. Or something else will.
Realistically, ‘public morals’ is every part as one-sided as ‘creative industry’. As though we’re not to notice that the arbiters of culture are not intended to be the people themselves. Most honestly don’t see it though, so it’s so easy to pull wool over eyes. There’s a weird duality here. When I was on vk I saw the propensity of Neo-Nazis insisting the Holocaust never happened, spiritual diarrhea the same way that socialists defend Holodomor, while in the same breath were they wishing that it was real or declaring that if it happened today they wouldn’t be opposed.
On the polar opposite end of the ideological spectrum, while there exists very little evidence that domestic protestors no matter BLM or antifa are instigating violence, it really is what they need to be considering. Put the cams down and punch the fucking cops. Physically prevent them from hurting anymore innocent people. If life, liberty and pursuits of happiness are contingent on endangering the lives of others you are a spoiled brat. Dare to bravely overcome the mild inconvenience of wearing a goddamn mask around other people. Real patriots rationalize the deaths of their fellows because real patriots are fucking brain damaged. Neither logic or sympathy or half-assed legislation is getting results with monsters. Or voting for the latest editions of used car salesman/game-show host/televangelist.
Some mornings ago I had Eucharistic minister-ladies from the church in my living-room, as I play a role in the underground railroad of food distribution hereabouts. I showed them 5 dozen clips of cops initiating violence nationwide over recent weeks, and how to easily view hundreds more. They were mortified. “How come we’ve never seen these before?” they asked me. Because your social media is a self-binding spell, law enforcement replaced organized crime in this country long ago and media’s one task is to deflect blame from what’s ultimately responsible for all that ails all of us. For me personally there is never a rationale to justify lethal force regardless of circumstances, not when it’s an unwanted fetus and not when it’s an unwanted POC, homeless or whatever other variety of societal outcast. Neither you or the marketing which sold you gets to set limits on the value of another life. The vast majority of our problems today oh so clearly stem from rationalizations to the contrary. Someone else will want and need those people very much. But as violence remains the lone universal language as well as the only language understood by ego-centrists the world over, then it is necessary at times. Those times being the last resort.
The popular contrarian notion that our predicaments now are somehow magically not the last resort however, comes from voices every part as sheltered as a small town church lady. And I think protesters can be the sexiest people alive, but what they are doing really is just foreplay.
What is life but sorting what needs to be done, and then making it happen? You might not ever have the time for it, or the energy to give it or the space to do it right proper. You may never find resources necessary for taking care of business but if it is in fact a life and death concern then you make it happen. Not everyone has the fortune to expect their problems be resolved by the kindness of strangers at your earliest convenience. Quite a fucking lot of people actually are too busy for prayers. Help was never on the way, unless you have it to give to another. Nothing prevents us from being decent people to one another. Own your mistakes and your solutions, or you are codependent, rather than independent, as conviction of any demeanor eternally bests the lack thereof.
